Project Portfolio Server includes the following modules, any of which can be disabled if not needed:
- Portfolio Builder: Collects all an organization’s investments as a means of making them visible to executives all in one repository. Forms and templates can be created to streamline collection of data and metrics. In addition, workflows can be designed to help ensure that projects are subject to the appropriate governance controls.
- Portfolio Optimizer: Helps organizations implement a rational instead of emotional approach to prioritization and selection of investments.
- Portfolio Dashboard: Provides organizations with better visibility, insight, and control across all approved investments and allows them to be monitored and controlled throughout their life cycles.
The server is accessed through its Web client, Project Portfolio Web Access.
