Early Bird Competition Winner! Kurbuingi

The Early Bird Competition was for orders in 2007 up to August 31st – each one was entered in the running for great prizes.

We are very happy to announce that Kurbuingi Youth Development Association won the competition draw and chose the Microsoft XBOX 360 as their prize.

Kurbingui Youth Development Association addresses the disadvantage and poverty experienced by the Indigenous community and non-Indigenous young people in achieving their rights of passage to a safe and secure future in the community.

The Manager of Kurbuingi; Sue Perel in upper Brisbane Queensland told us what the DonorTec program has meant to them:

When the software arrived it truly was like Christmas unwrapping all that stuff. We tried to think ahead to encompass our needs for the coming year at least, and the saving is immeasurable. This has meant that we can plan ahead for developing programs and know that we have the resources on hand instead of waiting for a funding opportunity.  Our training area requires continual maintenance and updating which is very costly, so we are dependant on donations of used computers from Government departments.”

She told us about the XBOX 360 Prize:

Our young people in the Get Set For Work project and our Friday night activities will benefit through accessing the X Box and related resources. I understand that Dept Transport has a learn to drive program to run on the X Box. That’s got to be a winner!

Remember it is one order per organisation branch per year – so plan your orders well!

Please plan carefully before making orders because in most cases you are restricted to one order per supplier per year. If you have other locations or branches, each of these can also register and order independently.

Before you place your order, make sure that you have worked out all of your organisation’s requirements from that donor for the coming year. In most cases you will only be able to order once per year per donor. In some cases (e.g. Cisco) there will be a financial limit on the amount of administrative fees you can spend on donated products in a year, in others (e.g. Microsoft) there will be a limit on the number of products and/or licences you can order. So don’t rush in to ordering a single item and then find a few months later you needed something else and then have to wait a year to get it.

Note: You can make separate orders for each donor. You don’t have to order both at the same time.

IT budgeting and planning will allow you to get a maximum benefit from your order limit, which could save your organisation 1000’s of dollars in IT expenditure.

Please contact DonorTec if you would like more information or visit the FAQ’s online for detailed information about ordering.

Cisco – Australian nonprofits have had the highest demand for Cisco donations globally!

The quarterly budget was ordered in a week! Products will be available again in November.

The Cisco Hardware donation program has a limited quota and when released in March of this year a years budget for donations was reached within a few weeks.

The program has been revised to release donations in quarterly budget intervals. The first of these was released in August. Before we could blink our Australian nonprofit sector had done it again and the quarterly budget was reached within a few days.

Nowhere else in the world has this nonprofit demand been so high. We are obviously liaising with CISCO and other global partners to examine why the demand is so high here and if it is possible to increase the budget for Australia.

So if Cisco products is something your organisation needs for your networking or security requirements you might like to register with DonorTec now and be prepared with your requirements for the next quarterly release in November. Orders are taken on a first in, first served basis!

May the force be with you!

We are working to find more donor partners in software, hardware and accessories for Australian Nonprofits

DonorTec is very aware that Australian Nonprofits are hungry for ICT support and any savings available to reduce ICT infrastructure costs.

As the digital world develops the need for nonprofits to operate in this world more efficiently and effectively becomes paramount in fundraising and the delivery of important community services.

This urgency is expressed to us each day as we liaise with organizations like Kurbuingi Youth Development Association (profiled above) to rural financial counselling services providing critical support to drought stricken farmers and seniors computer clubs reducing the isolation of seniors in a digital world – and these are just three examples.

Our current donors provide an amazing program of donations to address this need. We are working to further this program by finding more donor partners in hardware, software and accessories to expand this support to the nonprofit sector in Australia.

Please note that we also welcome feedback on products that would be useful and we keep a demand register for ICT products.

Even if you think that you are not eligible, I would strongly suggest that you register because new donors may have different criteria for eligibility. Also current donors may change there eligibility criteria in future.
