We are very happy to announce that Kurbuingi Youth Development Association won the competition draw and chose the Microsoft XBOX 360 as their prize.
Kurbingui Youth Development Association addresses the disadvantage and poverty experienced by the Indigenous community and non-Indigenous young people in achieving their rights of passage to a safe and secure future in the community.
The Manager of Kurbuingi; Sue Perel in upper Brisbane Queensland told us what the DonorTec program has meant to them:
“When the software arrived it truly was like Christmas unwrapping all that stuff. We tried to think ahead to encompass our needs for the coming year at least, and the saving is immeasurable. This has meant that we can plan ahead for developing programs and know that we have the resources on hand instead of waiting for a funding opportunity. Our training area requires continual maintenance and updating which is very costly, so we are dependant on donations of used computers from Government departments.”
She told us about the XBOX 360 Prize:
“Our young people in the Get Set For Work project and our Friday night activities will benefit through accessing the X Box and related resources. I understand that Dept Transport has a learn to drive program to run on the X Box. That’s got to be a winner!:
